Terms and Conditions of Service
Please read the following general rental service conditions to clarify any questions or details.
General Rental Service Conditions
Reservations
The customer rents bicycles and accessories from Bike Shop, S.L., subject to all terms and conditions of this agreement:
Bicycles may be reserved in advance through our online platform or in person at our location on Coral Street, Puerto de Alcudia, Mallorca.
At the time of booking, 100% of the service price must ALWAYS be paid. If the customer requests it via email, an invoice copy will be sent. Otherwise, the invoice will be provided when the service is enjoyed (when picking up the bicycle).
Online reservations can only be paid through the secure TPV system using a credit card.
Store reservations can be paid in cash (within legal monetary limits) or by credit card.
Duration
The minimum rental period for bicycles is 3 days if rented online and 1 day if rented in-store, always subject to availability.
Reservation Modification
Customers may modify their reservations (dates, number of days, type of bicycle, etc.) without penalty, subject to availability.
Any price difference due to changes in bicycle type or seasonal rates may require additional payment.
Cancellation
Customers can cancel their reservation anytime from booking until the rental date. Cancellations are subject to the following penalties:
No penalty if cancellation occurs at least 30 days before the service date.
50% penalty of the total reservation if canceled between 29 and 15 days before the service date.
100% penalty (no refund) if canceled less than 15 days before the service date.
Bicycle Pickup
The customer must provide valid identification (ID or passport) and complete the rental agreement.
The bicycle will only be handed over to the reservation holder, who must be an adult and will assume responsibility for the rented equipment by signing the rental agreement.
For multiple reservations, each user must sign a rental agreement unless minors are accompanied, in which case the parent or legal guardian will sign on their behalf.
At the time of equipment pickup (bicycle and accessories), the customer must provide a €400 deposit as a guarantee. This can be made in cash or through a credit card hold. The deposit will be returned to the customer once the rental period ends and the bicycle and accessories are verified to have been returned in proper and complete condition.
Commitment to Proper Use of Rented Equipment
The rented bicycles and accessories may only be used by the customers listed in the rental agreement.
The customer must take proper care of the equipment and take all necessary precautions to protect it from damage, loss, or theft.
In the event of damage, loss, or theft during the rental period, the customer will immediately assume the full replacement costs at market prices.
At the end of the rental period, a representative of Bike Shop S.L. will assess any losses or damages incurred.
The customer must always ensure the bicycle and other equipment are securely locked when not in sight (lock the frame, seat, and wheels to a fixed post or bike rack). Whenever possible, it is recommended to keep the equipment with you.
Returns
The lessee must return the rented equipment along with all accessories at the agreed place, date, and time.
Any changes must be authorized in advance by the lessor.
Failure to comply with this condition allows the lessor to legally demand the return of the equipment.
Bimont Bike Shop may charge for extra days beyond the reservation without prior agreement.
Civil Liability and Limitations
A civil liability insurance policy is included in the rental agreement.
The policy covers damages to third parties caused by the lessee or persons for whom they are responsible.
Examples of Coverage:
I fall and suffer physical injuries > Not covered.
I fall and damage the bicycle > Not covered. The customer must cover bicycle damages using the provided deposit. If damages exceed the deposit value, the customer must pay the difference.
Theft of the bicycle, parts, or accessories > Not covered. The customer must cover the damages using the deposit. If damages exceed the deposit value, the customer must pay the difference.
I fall and/or cause damage to another person, vehicle, or public/private property > Covered by the insurance.
Responsibilities of the Lessor and Customer
The lessor declares that all bicycles and accessories are delivered in perfect working condition.
However, the lessor assumes no responsibility for direct or indirect damages to the lessee caused by faults or breakdowns resulting from misuse or lack of care by the customer.
It is the customer’s responsibility to inspect the bicycle and accessories upon receipt and request replacements or repairs if unsatisfactory before using the rental equipment.
The customer and their companions must also comply with Spanish traffic laws.
